Light:
Plants need full-spectrum lighting, most plants like 400 -700 nanometers, 6500K-ish
Hygger LED Lights $60 and others have programmable sunrise/sunset schedules with built-in timers and tech
Cheap 6500K fluorescent tubes ($12 at hardware stores) can be set on a timer.
Premium $500/ea. Canister lights
CO2 Injection:
Not necessary but most plants will grow faster and healthier from CO2 injection
Small CO2 systems end up being more expensive in the long run over a year.
Fertilizers/supplements:
Easy Green all in one liquid fertilizer
Root tabs capsuled nutrients use long angled tweezers to tuck capsules deeply into the substrate below plants once a month.
Research specific issues and use a specific nutrient. Like holes in leaves-> Liquid Potassium Supplement
Substrate:
Most soils provide about 1-2 years of nutrients. After that, use "Root tabs" capsuled nutrients.
